Formation Flying

Formation flying is another way in which you can improve your overall skills whilst having some fun at the same time.

We can introduce you to basic formation flying in a pair or a three aircraft formation. While such operations are not essential you may one day wish to participate in an airshow or a Hollywood movie!

You will be given classroom briefings and practical experience in this fascinating aspect of helicopter operations which, as you know, is used extensively in military-style operations and filmmaking. It is unwise and illegal to format on an aircraft without both pilots approval so practice is essential.

Our short introductory course is dependant on student numbers and aircraft availability, but will give you a good understanding of the techniques required to successfully fly close-in with other aircraft but will not be enough to apply for the Red Arrow's!
